The temporary administration of Rēzekne municipality, which started its work on Tuesday, has a lot to do. At the moment, the main thing is to balance the budget, so that the municipality can fulfill the previously assumed obligations and at the same time the development of the city does not stop. The temporary administration in Rēzekne will work until the municipal elections next summer.
The head of Rēzekne’s temporary administration, Guna Puce, is spending the third day meeting with the heads of municipal capital companies and administrations to obtain more detailed information about the budget situation, as well as the planned development projects.
“The preliminary information is that the basic functions of the municipality are not threatened. Everything continues to work. We are talking about investment projects. The biggest challenge is to balance the budget to cover the existing obligations, but at the same time we also have to think about development. We cannot block and stop everything, stop the cities development. We need to see which projects will be further supported in the coming years.”
